Hi Lovelies!
Boy was today another long day. I had a 6 AM call time today for Morgan Carper’s presentation. (http://www.wwd.com/runway/spring-ready-to-wear-2012/review/morgan-carper?src=rss/recentstories/20110911) Check it out! I must say I could not get over the elegance, simplicity, contemporary and softness of her SS12 Collection. Beautiful! And soon I can claim a piece of my own ;). Then I had another show and than a casting. So tiring!
Any who… I’m at the second show talking to another model. Boy was she the typical stereo type.. “Pretty, No Brains, Not Aware.” She told me how she had been modeling for over a year and how she was into it since she was 14. How can you be passionate about something and not know the major details. She seemed a little ditzy when we started talking about school and stuff, understandable. I pull out this month’s (September) issue of Vogue when she comments on how they have been typically featuring more actresses on the covers of magazines than models.. I pointed out to her that the woman on the cover was Kate Moss. She asked me who Kate Moss was.. this girl was 20. I told her. Then we got into talking about campaigns vs. editorials. I couldn’t believe I was explaining this to a girl who has been in the industry much longer than me. You don’t even need to be a model to know. Then she comments how Alexander Wang and Vera Wang were married, after mentioning she believed she worked with Vera Wang in the past. I couldn’t help but want to slap this poor girl. It got worse when she flipped to the back of the magazine and asked me if Kate Moss’s editorial was a campaign and who was the woman.. the woman was Kate Moss.. same fucking woman on the cover. I kind of wanted to kill her. Took my magazine back and ended my conversation with her.
Moving on.. feels so great to be home. Really was dying to wash the make up off my face and get all the product gunk and knots out of my hair. I hardly wear make up when I go out so I really don’t enjoy it, plus I feel like I look much better with a clean/natural face. As do I think everyone does. Really important to let your skin and hair breathe gals (and guys). The key to good skin is no make up, moisturizer and an excellent facial cleanser. Plus lots and lots of water. Cannot stress the fact that water is amazing for your skin enough.
So lately I’ve been receiving some quite interesting and similar questions from my followers. I decided that the best way to answer these questions is to update my blog regularly with a post of things like what I’ve been up to, what beauty products did I buy, how I maintain weight, my skin, etc. I will still continue to post those amazing pictures of models, places, things, editorials, campaigns, etc. that inspire me.
Time to shower!
Thanks for following ;)!
